Meet Dania Fawaz, LGPC, ATR
Dania is a psychotherapist and art therapist working across the lifespan with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She offers a warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive space where clients can explore their experiences with curiosity, creativity, and compassion.
Her approach is grounded in psychodynamic and attachment-based therapy, with an emphasis on understanding how our experiences shape the ways we feel, cope, and connect with others. Whether you are navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or questions around identity and belonging, Dania can help you make sense of the patterns that may be keeping you feeling stuck.
She understands many of these patterns as responses that developed to help us cope with earlier experiences or circumstances. While they may have served an important purpose at one time, they can become limiting as our lives and relationships change. Therapy offers an opportunity to understand where these responses come from, recognize how they show up in the present, and begin finding new ways of responding to yourself and others.
Dania’s approach is flexible and collaborative, shaped by each client’s needs, interests, and experiences. Together, she and her clients explore what feels most helpful, drawing on reflective conversation, art therapy, mindfulness, somatic practices, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Some sessions may focus on making sense of emotions and relationship patterns, while others may involve creative expression or body-based approaches to explore experiences that are difficult to put into words. For trauma processing, Dania is trained in the Instinctual Trauma Response® (ITR) model, a structured approach that uses drawing and guided imagery to help process traumatic memories. Like EMDR, ITR aims to reduce the ongoing impact of difficult experiences, though the methods differ.
Working with clients across the lifespan informs Dania’s developmental perspective, allowing her to see how patterns emerge, adapt, and evolve over time. With children, she integrates Child-Centered Play Therapy and art therapy, creating space for expression through play and creativity. She also works collaboratively with parents to better understand their children’s emotional needs, navigate challenges, and strengthen connection.
Dania’s perspective is also shaped by her own experiences of parenthood, living and working across countries, and navigating different cultural contexts. As a Lebanese therapist, she brings sensitivity to the ways culture, family expectations, migration, and belonging can influence our sense of self and our relationships. She particularly welcomes first-generation clients, people living far from home, and families navigating life between cultures.
Dania offers therapy in English and Arabic.
